Wide Awake Films located in Kansas City is in town this week shooting a new civil war documentary! As you likely recall, Wide Awake Films was in town last September filming several scenes for a documentary that revolved around a group of young Americans who led a movement that helped to get Abraham Lincoln elected as President of the United States in 1861. This week the group is filming several scenes for a documentary about the St. Alban’s Raid of 1864, where a group of confederate soldiers, who had been captured and then escaped organized a raid into St. Albans, Vermont. During the robberies, the soldiers dressed as civilians and robbed four banks in the community and then attempted to burn the community. The documentary will depict how the St. Alban’s residents became heroes by rallying, recovering some of the stolen money, and driving the raiders out of town, before the raiders could do extensive damage to the Community.

On Tuesday and Wednesday most of the filming will take place in the downtown area on Franklin Street, 9th Street and 10th Street. On Thursday and Friday filming moves to Linwood Lawn, located South of Lexington.
